Book review "Cheerful crocheting-ideas"

by Els van Hemelryck
First look

I’ve finally had a chance to spend some time with this adorable book, and I’m loving every page of it.

It is a delight to look at if you enjoy color-rich contemporary crochet.

It is an awesome inspiring book with some very cute and inspirational designs.

I would recommend starting to learn the crochet basics before starting to make any project because the projects do not start at beginner level.

Some crochet stitches

This book contains 33 different designs to crochet (plus a few suggestions for variations).

It begins with a little bit of basic crochet instruction, including some crochet stitches.

Els's writing style is clear and easy to follow, and she includes lots of useful tips along the way and color photos, too.

She indicates what materials you need to make the project (yarn, hook, fabrics, embellishments).

It’s a huge eclectic mix of projects so you can surely find something that you would want to make!

Let's start!

Referring clothing and accessories, the book also contains gorgeous, wearable designs that you can wear every day.

I started to make the vintage style pashmina from this book. The pattern can be found on page 28. It worked up so fast and came out great - the perfect one for my daughter. Love it!

Finally

Here’s a peek at my work :-)

Overall, this is a beautiful book, filled with bright colour and fashionable crochet patterns. I definitely recommend this one for your Crochet Library!

You can purchase your copy from Amazon.

A special thanks to Südwest Verlag for providing me with a review copy of this book!

Tanja

I asked one of my crochet friends Tanja to assist in this project and she said YES!

She decided to crochet a very cute mouse on page 78.

"Understandable for beginners as well as for advanced. The pattern instruction is very easily written. I prefer to use the magic ring instead of the center ring. In all, a simple crochet book".
