Step 1 - material
This is what you need:
- yarn
- crochet hook 2mm and hook 1.5 mm for the tiny heart
- scissors, sewing needle
- wiggly eye
- glue
- paper clip
That’s all :-)
Use any size yarn/hook you have on hand - it will just change the size.
Let’s start!
Step 3 - tiny heart
For the wings of the bird I decided to crochet a tiny heart.
I start with a slip knot on the hook and 2 chains.
2 double crochets in the first chain. Work all stitches into the first chain!
2 half double crochets
1 double crochet
2 half double crochets
2 double crochets, 2 chains
End with a slip stitch into center of the heart and fasten off.
Cut the long yarn and pull tight for weaving into back. Yarn ends need to be weaved in.
Step 2 - small heart
I start with a slip knot on the hook and 4 chains.
Make yet 3 triple crochets in the first chain. Work all stitches into the first chain!
3 double crochets, 1 chain
1 triple crochet, 1 chain
3 double crochets
3 triple crochets, 3 chains
End as shown in the image with a slip stitch into center of the heart and fasten off.
Cut the long yarn and pull tight for weaving into back. Yarn ends need to be weaved in.
Step 4 - beak, eye, finishing
Sew beak in place with yarn needle, stick 1 wiggly eye, sew or stick wing to body.
Use glue to add a dab of it to the pad of the paperclip and stick bird on.
